National migratory registry

What is it?

This service is for those wishing to register and obtain a National Migration Registration Card (CRNM) in the following cases:

  1. Registration of an immigrant holding a temporary visa;
  2. Residence permit granted (decision published in the Federal Official Journal - “Diário Oficial da União” - DOU);
  3. Refugee, Stateless Person or Asylum seeker, already recognized by the competent bodies.

Registration consists of civil identification, using biographical and biometric data, in order to obtain a National Migration Registration number (RNM) and a National Migration Registration Card (CRNM).

Immigrants with temporary visas who have entered the country must apply for registration within ninety days of entering national territory, under penalty of the sanction provided for in item III of the main section of the Article 307 of Decree 9,199/2017.

Immigrants who have been granted a residence permit in the country must apply for registration within thirty days of the date of publication of the granting of said application, under penalty of the sanction provided for in item IV of the main section of the Article 307 of Decree 9,199/2017.

Who can use this service?

Immigrants who have:

  • a temporary visa; or
  • a residence permit that has been granted (decision published in the Federal Official Journal - “Diário Oficial da União” - DOU).

1- Request registration

2- Make an appointment

Except in the cases provided for in Article 67 of Decree 9,199/2017, the service will only take place at the Federal Police unit in the district where the applicant is domiciled.

3- Go to the Federal Police unit on the date scheduled in the previous item

4- Receiving the National Migration Registry Card

The National Migration Registry Card will be delivered to the Federal Police service unit.

DELIVERY CHANNELS:

You need to check that the document is ready to be picked up. When this happens, the system will inform you "Your document has been made and is ready to be picked up" and will provide a specific form for delivering the document.

Fill in the form provided and make an appointment to pick up the document at the correct service unit. Some units do not require an appointment (in these cases the system will inform you that "there is no appointment for the chosen service").
