Brazil-Colombia Academic Mobility Program

The Brazil-Colombia Academic Mobility Program – BRACOL emerged from the partnership between the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) and the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN) . The Program consists of the mobility of undergraduate students from all areas of knowledge, covering disciplinary courses in exact sciences, humanities and health, for the duration of one academic semester.

The program is promoted under the terms of the Cooperation Agreement signed on October 26, 2011 between the Group for International Cooperation of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) and the Asociación Colombiana de Universities (ASCUN), with the support of the Division of Educational Themes and Portuguese Language from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DELP/MRE) and the Colombian Embassy in Brazil.

BRACOL's main objective is to promote academic cooperation between Brazil and Colombia. It was launched in 2014 and already has 11 editions , and of the institutions associated with GCUB, 46 have a history of membership . More than 210 students in total, Brazilians and Colombians , participated in the academic mobility offered by BRACOL.

The benefits of the program include exemptions from academic fees, assistance with meals and accommodation for students, as well as some optional assistance. These conveniences are applicable to both students from Brazil and academics from Colombia.

GCUB's main partner institution in carrying out the program is ASCÚN. Since 1957, this Association has promoted the principles of academic quality, university autonomy and the search for the dissemination of knowledge and social responsibility. Through integration with the academic community at national and international level, ASCÚN values mechanisms of interrelationship and associativity to generate processes of dialogue with the State and society.
